Formed in 1998, for jet-ski racing, the team has since migrated into auto racing.Founded by a group of business professionals who raced for personal achievement, the team has constantly strived for the winning formula.In jet-ski races, achievements include a championship win in the Asia Pacific King’s Cup Thailand and the Malaysian Jet Endurance Challenge.
In auto racing, the team has participated and win in many races including the annual 12 Hours Merdeka Millennium Endurance races, the JUGRA Challenge Super Saloon, Malaysia Super Car Series and the prestigious the Asian Touring Car Series. It has therefore earn the reputation of being one the top racing teams in the region.
JPM has also ventured into event management since 2006. A few of its highlights consist of JPM Integra Cup One Make Race Series from 2006 to 2008,first ever Hill Climb event with JPM Berjaya Hills Time Challenge 2009 and JPM Journey Through Time at Starhill of which over 100++ super/performance cars gathered around in the center of the city.
The Hill Climb Event was a great success, welcomed and enjoyed by many financially capable car enthusiasts, leading the continuance of its 2nd edition in 2010 again attracting more cars than in 2009. In the same year (2010), more than 60 cars participated in the cross state Time Challenge Rally organized by JPM Motorsport and officially endorsed by the Kelantan State Government.
2010 was also the year when JPM Motorsport was partially involved in SUPER GT; a world class Grand Touring Race Series where it is hugely popular and reputable in the region alongside SIC. Subsequently, JPM Motorsport negotiated and took over the Event from SIC, making the first time ever a world class motorsport event managed by a private venture without government funding.
In 2011, with many creatively well thought off activities and with months of preparation, SUPER GT was recognized by the public and media as one of the best event ever organized in Malaysia, with more than 60,000 attendance.
Aside from the exciting on track race activities from SUPER GT 2011 and other support races like GT Asia, Thailand Toyota Vios and Yaris Cup, JPM Megane Cup Challenge, there were other activities off the track, such as the prominent Four (4) days Motorshow with display of cars like the McLaren Mercedes SLR, Porsche Carrera GT, Ford GT replica, various Ferrari models, Lamborghini SV-670, etc. It was considered by most as one of the most exciting side show. Moreover, JPM also introduced a mini auto saloon, with participation by more than 25 automobile related vendors. Other family friendly activity includes GT Queen, Drum Performance with a cultural theme (Japanese vs Malaysian), flea Market with more than 50 vendors, and Food Market.
As a new addition to JPM’s Motto, “Bringing Entertainment to Motorsport” JPM Motorsport also introduced not one, but two Rave Parties on Saturday night, and one Rock Concert on Sunday Night in SUPER GT. |
